How to Obtain Turkish Citizenship? Turkish Citizenship Requirements 2024
Obtaining Turkish Citizenship Through Real Estate Purchase
In September 2018, the Official Gazette published regulations that introduced changes to how foreign nationals can acquire Turkish citizenship (Tyrkisk statsborgerskap). The legislation that came into force in 2018 established an investment-based citizenship programme, with the minimum citizenship investment amount set at 250,000 Turkish Lira (approximately 50,400 NOK — subject to current exchange rates).
From 13 June 2022, new regulations have raised the minimum investment requirement for the Turkish Citizenship Programme to USD 400,000.
Foreign nationals who have purchased property in Turkey valued at not less than USD 400,000, or who have committed in writing (through a notarial deed) to purchase property of this value, may apply directly for Turkish citizenship.
